InformationWe work exclusively with low iron glass, which removes much of the green tint found in normal glass (it is also known as optiwhite glass), and optical quality glass. Sky Design offers three different formats of glass award: 1. Paperweight trophy/award format.These are ideal trophies for incorporating a 3D engraving, a horse or footballer for example, and a limited amount of text.Sizes : All shapes and sizes from small cubes measuring 50x50x50mm to large blocks of 100 x 100 x 160mm. 2. Plaque trophy/award format.The engraveable area of the plaques is generally larger than with the paperweights, the depth is limited, usually 10mm.These are ideal where you wish to include a certain amount of text, logo, and possibly an image. Sizes : Stock sizes range from 150 x 90 x 10mm up to 200 x 300 x 10mm and beyond. 3. Special commission awardAs the photographs on the samples page illustrate, we can make and engrave almost any type of glass award and trophy.The Process.We engrave within the glass in 3 dimensions. Our laser technology allows us to engrave inside the glass without touching the outside.Text is given a depth appropriate to the height of the lettering and 3D objects are sized according to the dimensions of the trophy and what additional text is required. There is a choice of over a hundred typefaces, and we can mix text , 3D objects and images in one trophy or award. You are presented with a layout of the final award for your approval along with the price.
